League of Young Voters Education Fund Gets The Job Done

League Of Young Voters Education Fund Reflects On 2011 Accomplishments, Looks Ahead To 2012

“We can turn our back on the future, or we can invest in the next generation of leaders who are poised to change the world. It’s up to us.”
– Biko Baker, Executive Director

2011 was a transformative year for the League of Young Voters Education Fund. The League expanded, struggled, grew and thrived. With your love and support, 2012 is set to be a banner year for the League to connect with our generation on an unprecedented level.

The League works year-round to empower young people nationwide to participate in the democratic process and create progressive political change on the local, state and national level.

On the eve of a presidential election, the League is developing innovative tactics to reignite young voters. From registering voters on iPads to livestreaming the State of the Union address, 2012 will not be a traditional, straight-laced campaign season, along with a coordinated online and offline campaign to get young voters the IDs they will need in 2012.

“When our folks can’t vote, we can’t influence the political agenda. What’s at stake is democracy,” says Biko Baker, Executive Director at the League.
