Its the same story again in Florida now. George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch captain, with a "squeaky" clean police record kills a young black boy and doesn't get charged with murder. Who's to blame in this case..the state of Florida. With its tea party political governor and polarizing partisan policies the tone has been set in the state to look at other people of color as the "enemy". How is it I ask that cops and/or security guards who want to be cops can shoot and kill black boys and not be charged with murder?
Its frustrating to see the headlines play across the tv screen. Its almost numbing to see it, but I know its affecting our youth into a "who cares if I die" mentality. The fact is that if they succeed who cares, because someone who is supposed to "serve and protect" us could kill them. In 2012, how is it possible that a boy who happens to be African-american can go to a corner store, be followed in a gated complex he lives in, approached by a plain clothes "neighborhood watchmen", and then fatally shot and killed minutes from his home?
The fact is that there is no true answer other than to say anyone can kill black boys and no one cares. sad, but true in 2012. So I plead with the state of Florida to turn over the 911 tapes, investigate this murder, uphold the law, and don't let another young black boy be killed leaving his unarmed screams of pain as he is shot in the chest go unnoticed.

This is not a story this is a tragedy yet our AFRICAN AMERICANS are born to be free but still in chains. This wasn't because of what he wore is because he is (BLACK)
