Updated: Zimmerman Vs. Martin Case

Zimmerman Court Appearance
Finally America's most hated man has come out of hiding. George Zimmerman (the murderer of 17 year old Trayvon Martin) turned himself in to authorities in Sanford, Florida on Wednesday. Zimmerman made his first court appearance earlier today (4/12) and has been charged with Second-degree murder.
Zimmerman's attorney, Mark O'Mara stated that Zimmerman plans to plead not guilty based on Florida's 'Stand Your Ground' law.

The 'Stand Your Ground' law states that a person may use force (including deadly force) in self defense when they feel that there life is being threaten. In most states a person is obligated to retreat or runaway from the person making the threats. This law is practiced in over 20 states in the United States. In the latest news, NYC's mayor Bloomberg is pushing for the repeal of the 'Stand Your Ground' law in those 20 states.

Ever since this horrible tragedy occurred, many celebrities and public eye figures have taken time out of their busy schedule to show their support for Trayvon Martin. Hopefully Justice will be served!

Bill Cosby"We've got to get the gun out of the hands of people who are supposed to be on neighborhood watch," he said."Without a gun, I don't see Mr. Zimmerman approaching Trayvon by himself. The power-of-the-gun mentality had him unafraid to confront someone. Even police call for backup in similar situations…When you carry a gun, you mean to harm somebody, kill somebody,"

Magic Johnson: “All of us are still wondering what’s going to happen. Here in America we’re still dealing with situations like this,” Johnson explained. “It’s very unfortunate, because also a lot of us have sons. Sons who wear hoodies and caps turned backward, and they’re not doing anything. That’s the fashion of today. And so, it could really happen to our sons. That’s what the NBA players are thinking, that’s what I’m thinking. I hope that justice is served and I hope that they get down to making sure they have a thorough investigation…The black community has seen days like this so many times,”
