Amanda Lee, author of Deranged
(5 Star Publications)
Hell bent on upping her body count, Nikki takes Nicole on a psychotic
rampage against her will. After a life full of devastation, crazy
thoughts invade Nicole’s head.
Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write Deranged?
Amanda Lee: I was inspired to write Deranged because of past experiences. In my last relationship, I was very angry and decided to put my anger out on paper. My imagination was a little wild, but that’s how I felt at that moment.
JP: What sets Deranged apart from other books in the same genre?
AL: In Deranged,
the character is real fast-paced and frequent action in which conflict
between the main characters is mental, emotional and physical. The
crimes committed in the book is of serial murders.
JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to Deranged getting out to the public?
AL: I just transcribed my thoughts. I wrote
intuitively. I embrace the creative process. I’m always challenging
myself to make something that is new and different from anything else
that I’ve read or written.
JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish Deranged?
AL: My writing process is easy. I would isolate
myself in a private place and write. Usually for hours at a time, take a
break, then at it again. It took me 3 days to write Deranged.
JP: What’s next for Amanda Lee?
AL: To continue my writing career. I want to
continue to get better and to have my work considered as notable. I want
to be mentioned in the same conversations with those authors that I
respect for their writing abilities.
