EMELI SANDÉ DEBUTS INTIMATE IN-STUDIO VIDEO FOR HER OLYMPICS OPENING CEREMONY ANTHEM "ABIDE WITH ME"

Those lucky enough to see Friday's Opening Ceremony for the 2012 Summer Olympics were treated to a radiant performance by Emeli Sande, the Scottish songstress that NPR Music refers to as "a cross between Ella Fitzgerald and Robyn". Handpicked by the night's curator, famed director Danny Boyle, she performed a jaw-dropping reindition of the traditional Scottish hymn "Abide with Me" while accompanied by a breathtaking dance routine, choreographed by Akram Khan. The moving segment was themed around "mortality" and "struggle between life and death" -- many viewers cited it as the highlight of the "Isles of Wonder" ceremony.

Continuing with her whirlwind summer plans, Emeli will finish up her stint openning for Coldplay on their US arena tour. In September, she will perform one night of the month-long iTunes Festival taking place at the Roundhouse in Camden, London, joining megastars Jack White, Norah Jones, and One Direction. Emeli is also penning songs for Alicia Keys' upcoming fifth studio album, slated for release later this year.

2012 has proven the year of Emeli Sande, whose debut OUR VERSION OF EVENTS (Released June 5th via Capitol Records) has been certified double-platinum in the UK (marking sales of 600,000) and has remained in the Top 10 on the British album chart since its No. 1 debut in late February. Since emerging onto the music scene, she has garnered high praises from everyone from Simon Cowell and Adele, to Perez Hilton and Alicia Keys.
