About "Lyric's Song":
The book “Lyric’s Song” is about a young 17-year-old who was given up at birth by his mother to be raised by his grandmother. Throughout Lyric’s life, he has been battled resentment, rage, anger, plus being sexually abused by a family member.
JP: What sets “Lyric’s Song” apart from other books in the same genre?
DH: “Lyric’s Song” deals with situations any man or woman endures when they’re a youth. The characters I develop in the book are full of raw emotions.
JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to “Lyric’s Song” getting out to the public?
DH: Basically networking with other authors on social media outlets such as Facebook or Twitter and word-of-mouth. In other words, promotion is the main key to getting “Lyric’s Song” out to the public. (read more)
JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish “Lyric’s Song”?
DH: First, I write outlines so that I can keep the story consistent and on point. Second, I attempt to pen a storyline for each character. Finally, I make sure to bring the each story line into one major plot. (read more)
