5 reasons why Jay Z and other African-American celebrities are wrong to "Boycott Florida"

By Geek Swagg

1. A boycott should have a specific target. Florida is a very large state. The message is sent to other blacks that "we don't care about you".

2. Beyonce, Jay Z, Kanye West, and Stevie Wonder are rich. What do they care if Florida businesses are not filled with customers, but what about the other businesses in Florida..like in places such as Miami Gardens and other urban/african american areas.

3. Dr. King led a boycott with a true target. It wasn't a "blanket boycott" without any real teeth.

4. "Black America" should understand that in 2013 there is no "black civil rights leader". The leader is in you. In the age of the internet, everyone has the power to change the world.

5. Boycott Florida..then what!? Like seriously..you just finished rapping a song about a clothing designer named "Tom Ford"..you're not rapping about any black owned businesses. Gtfoh! Its almost insulting that I should boycott Florida and ignore the good folks making a difference.

The African-american community must truly understand that real change comes from within and not from a couple who tells us to "Bow Down" and buy "Tom Ford". Boom.

  1. ENOUGH SAID...POINTS WELL TAKEN

BOYCOTT HAVE TO 1. MEAN SOMETHING AND 2. SEND A MESSAGE AND THIS PLAN DOES NEITHER. I DIDN'T HEAR ABOUT IT SO IT WAS NOT THAT MEANINGFUL.
