About "Love Out Loud":
Instead of dealing with deep-rooted personal issues, we take our brokenness and set out on an impossible journey seeking to be made whole by other people. “Love Out Loud” deals with baring the souls and being transparent when it comes to love and being in love.
Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write “A Piece of My Heart Vol.3: Love Out Loud”?
Shana Jay: Love was my inspiration for “Love Out Loud”. There are so many people who fear love because they have never experienced what true unconditional love really is or what it feels like. So many people mistaken sex for love, but it’s more than that.
JP: What sets “A Piece of My Heart Vol.3: Love Out Loud” apart from other books in the same genre?
SJ: My writings don’t fit within traditional confines of poetic prose. Many of my poems read like a letter to a dear friend, a lover, or myself. Others read like a short, eloquent essay enticing the reader to creative and intellectual thought. Yet, all of them showcase my emotions with a realism that only comes when I decided to unashamedly bare my soul. (read more)
JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to “A Piece of My Heart Vol.3: Love Out Loud” getting out to the public?
SJ: Mainly, I write poems that I would want to read myself. I also invest in my work because I believe in what I do. I’m passionate about my writings. I don’t mind spending money on the marketing aspect because that is all a part of the book game. (read more)
JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish “A Piece of My Heart Vol.3: Love Out Loud”?
SJ: Music inspires me. If a new album has come out and it’s one of my favorite artists, expect a new book to be birthed. I write daily. Poetry is my release. It’s like a mental exercise for me. I never stop writing. I have to break my books up into series because I write that much. (read more)
JP: What’s next for Shana Jay ?
SJ: I am currently working on a nonprofit organization. I want to help the multitude and give back to my community. It’s in the works, and I am excited about the impact it will make. (read more)
