About "Simony Chiavary 2.5":

This is the story of how a young Brazilian girl ran away from a child molesting uncle in the poverty stricken Favelas to become the most powerful woman in the United States as a Madame in the underworld of sex for money.

“Simony Chiavary 2.5” is the 3rd installment of a 4 book saga called the “Poet’s Pursuit of Pleasure” series. This book personifies the pleasure, pain and persistence of a strong woman coming of age. This book is also the culmination of everything we love in a great story.

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write “Simony Chiavary 2.5 (Poet’s Pursuit of Pleasure)”?

LaMont A. Wright: Simony Chiavary was a scene stealer in the first 2 books of what was originally supposed to be a trilogy. However as the story developed a life of its own, her story became critical to tell. Because the story of how Simony Chiavary grows up and comes into power drives everything in the 3rd and final book of the series, the story of Simony ties book 2 and 3 together. Thus “Simony Chiavary 2.5” is called 2.5.

JP: What sets “Simony Chiavary 2.5 (Poet’s Pursuit of Pleasure)” apart from other books in the same genre?

LAW: “Simony Chiavary 2.5” falls under the genre of “Which-Way” or “Alternate-Endings”. These were books of my youth, where you could decide the actions of a character as you read. “Simony Chiavary 2.5” has 5 different endings which are decided by the reader. You can choose Destiny, Fate, Love, Religion or Money. Each option is followed by its own separate story that follows Simony’s life that the reader chose to follow. (read more)

JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to "Simony Chiavary 2.5 (Poet’s Pursuit of Pleasure): getting out to the public?

LAW: Persistence, persistence and more persistence. A rapper shouldn’t expect to sign a million dollar contract after cutting his/her 1st demo. An actor shouldn’t expect a lead role after their first audition. For some reason, many authors feel they deserve a seat on Ellen’s couch after one novel. I’m not even looking for “The Check” until I’m ten books deep. (read more)

JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish "Simony Chiavary 2.5 (Poet’s Pursuit of Pleasure)"?

LAW: Creatively, I’m in the zone right now. Hopefully, that doesn’t sound too arrogant. I wrote the book in 10 months. The Simony character was already established. That was part of the reason I was able to crank it out so quickly. As for the writing process, I find a quiet space, meditate on what everyone else is writing about and then rebel against the status quo in verse form. (read more)

JP: What’s next for LaMont A. Wright?

LAW: Three book releases in the coming months. I’m collaborating with photographer Femi Watson on her book that I’m narrating. A poetry book “Just My Thoughts Short stories, Poems and Philosophies” and the last book of the Poet’s Pursuit of Pleasure Series – “Hustler’z Code”. (read more)
