UNION, NJ : SKATE 22 LOSING ITS LICENSE AFTER 16 YEAR OLD TEEN IS KILLED!
Jean D'Haiti, 16, was shot and killed Friday night at a roller-skating party
"There is no doubt that Skate 22 is conducting its business in an unlawful manner, and that it constitutes a breach of the peace," Union Mayor Clifton People said just before the five-member township committee voted unanimously to revoke the license.
The vote took place during an emergency hearing in the Union municipal building after D'Haiti was shot in the head just after midnight Thursday.
The teenager had been with 700 people, ages 13 to 25, attending a Christmas night roller-skating party when a fracas between two groups erupted outside and was capped off by gunfire, police said.
Skate 22's license was only days away from expiring on New Year's Eve, according to township records.
