This weeks conference championships has a NCAA tournament feel about it. Especially in the Big East and Big 12conferences. In the Big East, Connecticut and Pittsburgh; the number three and two teams in the country respectively both lost in the quarterfinals of the Big East Tournament. West Virgina started by beating Pittsburgh 74-60. Connecticut lost to Syracuse 127-117 in a Big East record six overtimes. Oklahoma was upset by Oklahoma State 71-70. OU lost to a team that they had beat handily. Kansas, who was the Big 12 conference champion also lost 71-64 to the ninth seed in their conference Baylor.

The Syracuse/Connecticut game will go down in history as a great game. In the end however, it went down to the fact that Syracuse wanted it more. Both teams are NCAA bound and UCONN is a lock to be a number one seed in the tournament. Syracuse's win will make the seeding better. I doubt if they will have any legs left after playing 63 minutes against a team like UCONN. What everyone is seeing is that teams are trying to make it into the NCAA tournament. There taking the decision out of the NCAA selection committee and putting it into there own hands. That's good because this year there are more bubble teams then there are shoo in at large teams.
