Who will be this years Cinderella at March Madness

Who has the makings of this years Stephen Curry?

Last years NCAA tournament produced a Cinderella story in the form of Davidson. Davidson is a small school out of South Carolina that beat all the big teams that was put in from of them. This was the coming out party of there star sophomore Stephen Curry, who could out shoot and entire team by himself. It boosted him to being a lottery status for the NBA draft. However, he came back to school because he enjoys himself so much and he didn't need the money.
If your looking for this years Cinderella team and player, look at VCU with guard Eric Maynor. He hit the game winning shot against Duke in the first round of the 2007 NCAA tournament as a freshman and VCU is a battle tested team. They can make some noise if they get past the first round. Look out for them.

Conference championships have a March Madness feel

Two of the top three teams in the country lose in their conference tournaments

This weeks conference championships has a NCAA tournament feel about it. Especially in the Big East and Big 12conferences. In the Big East, Connecticut and Pittsburgh; the number three and two teams in the country respectively both lost in the quarterfinals of the Big East Tournament. West Virgina started by beating Pittsburgh 74-60. Connecticut lost to Syracuse 127-117 in a Big East record six overtimes. Oklahoma was upset by Oklahoma State 71-70. OU lost to a team that they had beat handily. Kansas, who was the Big 12 conference champion also lost 71-64 to the ninth seed in their conference Baylor.

The Syracuse/Connecticut game will go down in history as a great game. In the end however, it went down to the fact that Syracuse wanted it more. Both teams are NCAA bound and UCONN is a lock to be a number one seed in the tournament. Syracuse's win will make the seeding better. I doubt if they will have any legs left after playing 63 minutes against a team like UCONN. What everyone is seeing is that teams are trying to make it into the NCAA tournament. There taking the decision out of the NCAA selection committee and putting it into there own hands. That's good because this year there are more bubble teams then there are shoo in at large teams.
