Seth Curry, younger brother of Stephen Curry and the nations leading freshman scorer will transfer to Duke. This was confirmed when Seth Curry's father Dell informed ESPN.COM that Curry was offered a scholarship from Duke following a visit and he accepted it.Curry, who averaged 20.2 points a game for the Flames this past season, will sit out the 2009-10 season and be eligible for 2010-11 as a third-year sophomore. A source close to the Blue Devils confirmed the transfer offer was made and accepted.
"Coach K kept telling him the timing couldn't be better," Dell Curry told The Associated Press. "They'll be plenty of opportunities to contribute."
Seth Curry's plan was to transfer to an ACC school and he accomplished that within his first week.
Seth Curry said the opportunity to continue his career at Duke, and get a Duke education were other major factors in the decision. Dell Curry said the family was wowed by the new Duke practice facility, which Dell said is on par with NBA facilities.
This will be big step for Seth considering the success that his family has had at small schools. Has father started at Virginia Tech, when they weren't great or respectable and his brother Stephen was the darling of the NCAA Tournament last years as well as been a two time first team All-American. Stephen is headed to a NBA career. Do you think that would have jumped off if it wasn't for the playing time he got at Davidson. You'll find out how tough it will be the first week in practice. Don't cry because this is what you asked for.
