Eastern Carolina Storms
Rain from the past two days have left the city under water in many areas. Strangely, this has also brought out a lot of looky-lous. People are actually driving through flooded areas...knowing that they are flooded. This is very dangerous not to mnetion stupid. The wake that your vehicle causes on a residential street can flood homes leading to injuries.
Stay home and watch the flooded streets on the news channels. Allowing children to play in drain waters is asking for trouble. There is a real-live danger of being pulled to the grate and drowning. The possibility of fire ants, rodents, and snakes in flooded areas is real. Please do not allow your babies to play in flood waters!
-Do not cross a road if you cannot see the road through the water
-Please pay attention to official warnings, and if it is not an emergency, stay off the roads. If something can kill you, you should respect it.
-Call 911 only if you have an emergency related to the flooding. If your house is flooding, your car is sinking, etc. Power outages are not calls that should be sent to 911. Please call the power company.
