Condolences go out to the family of Cullen Bryant, former running back for the Los Angeles Rams.
Bryant died at his Colorado Springs home last week. Bryant played 11 seasons with the Rams (1973 - 1982) before going on to work as their assistant strength trainer until 1987. His football career ended after his tenure with the Seahawks (1983 -’84).
Bryant helped the Rams reach the Super Bowl after the 1979 season and no fan could forget his 1-yard touchdown during the Rams/Steelers 1980 Super Bowl game which the Rams lost.
Bryant, a Fort Sill, Oklahoma native was a second-round draft pick for the Rams in 1973 and at an imposing 6-foot-1 and 234 pounds, he was the biggest player of his time to regularly return kickoffs.

Bryant had a glowing career scoring 23 rushing and receiving touchdowns, running back kickoffs for another three and running for 3,264 yards on 849 carries.
Chuck Knox, who coached Bryant during his time with the Rams and Seahawks had this to say upon learning of Bryant's death:

“He was an outstanding person with great character traits. When we asked him to do certain things, he’d do them. He never complained about anything. When he got that big body moving, it was something else, and he had muscles on top of muscles.”
Bryant was 58 years-old and is survived by three children.
