Sarah Palin isn't the only one in her family to go rogue.
In a new interview set to air next week, the former Alaskan governor reveals she didn't know her daughter Bristol was sexually active before she became pregnant while still a high school senior.
"That is why it was shocking," Palin said. "Truthfully, we were devastated."
The confession comes during a sit-down with Barbara Walters for ABC news, which coincides with the release of Palin's new autobiography "Going Rogue: An American Life."
Walters also asks the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate if she's planning to run for president one day.
"That'd be cool," Palin's 15-year-old daughter Willow chimes in.
Palin's 413-page memoir, to be released on Nov. 17, covers a range of topics, from childhood to family to her time on the campaign trail, including the disastrous interview with Katie Couric that was a blow to John McCain's presidential run.
Meanwhile, an Associated Press analysis dismisses many of the claims made in the book, saying it "reprises familiar claims from the 2008 presidential campaign that haven't become any truer over time."
Palin's interview with Walters will air in five parts, beginning on "Good Morning America" Tuesday and then on "World News" and "Nightline." The full interview will air Friday on "20/20."
