Looking to support their fellow troops in Afghanistan, members of the Am Vets Post # 38 on Shore Drive in Country Club, solicited a warm donation from Pugsley's Pizza shop located at 590 E. 191 Street in the Fordham section.Pugsley's owner, Sal Natale, and his staff prepared five Sicilian and 10 regular pies as well as 10 chicken rolls that were picked up by members of Am Vets; they will be frozen and soon shipped to Army National Guard members at the 48th HHC HQ Company in Kabul, Afghanistan in time for the New Year. Am Vet's member Christopher Perkins called it, "an experiment," to see if the pizza could stand the estimated five-day journey. Am Vet members would pick up the cost of shipping. SOURCE
