Media outlets have learned that Mythbuster and amateur rocket expert, Erik Gates has died after a freak accident on December 20, 2009.
Apparently Gates was working atop of a roof in a building in Newbury Park, California, doing electrical work when he fell through a skylight falling 30 feet to his death.
Gates, who ran Gates Brothers Rocketry along with his brother, was 47 and leaves behind a wife and three children. The Discovery Channel reality show paid a tribute to Gates during the Monday, December 28 episode.
