A Three-year-old boy from Bensonhurst is spending Easter in a New York Hospital after he was mauled by a pit bull Sunday. Fire Department officials say the boy was bleeding from injuries to his face when they arrived and was immediately rushed to Lutheran Hospital.
Police are still investigating the attack, but a police source told the New York Daily News that an argument may have caused the dog to become agitated and attack the child.
After the boy was taken to the hospital, police sent an ESU unit to the Brooklyn apartment to capture the dog, which was placed in the custody of the New York City Animal Care and Control.
