The Black Urban Times
Children with special needs in Bernards Township will have a wonderful summer to look forward to thanks to the Bethel Ridge Corporation of Basking Ridge. The company is set to sponsor a five-week long recreation and educational program aptly titled The Summer Experience.
Bethel Ridge provides an invaluable service to the community by providing quality programs that enable individuals with special needs to reach their highest level of achievement and independence. These programs ensure that each individual becomes a contributing member of his or her community. The organization also provides Community housing, job training and job placement services.
Middle and High School students as well as young adults with special needs will enjoy events like swimming at the Somerset Hills YMCA and day trips to other exciting local attractions. While the program hopes to fill the summer days of it's attendants with fun-filled activities, they will also focus on light academics such as creative arts, math and reading.
The Summer Experience is set to begin Tuesday, July 6 to Friday, August 13, Monday thru Thursday in the afternoon. Fridays will feature the full day trips.
For more information about the Summer Experience, call Karen at 908-221-0801 or visit Bethel Ridge.
