William R. Reilly, Jr, former president of The corrections officers union has pleaded guilty to theft for pilfering more than $66,000 using the organizations debit card.

The monies came from the coffers of the Juvenile Justice Correction Officers Association and the Policemen's Benevolent Association Local 367.

Prosecutors say Reilly's thievery ran from September 2007 through July 2009 before union officials became suspicious and reported the crimes to police.

After an investigation, Reilly, a former guard at the New Jersey training School in Monroe Township, was charged in March.

The plea agreement calls for Reilly, who has repaid $25,000 of the stolen money, to make full restitution and forfeit his job.

The 36-year-old Carsltadt resident will never be able to hold any form of public employment, according to Middlesex County Assistant Prosecutor Manuel Sameiro.

When Reilly is sentenced on June 10, he faces up to three years in State Prison.
