Trenton Police Capt. Joseph Juniak announced the arrest of the suspect caught on video surveillance sexually assaulting a woman in her car.
Darnell Lavone Anthony has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual contact, kidnapping, criminal restraint, aggravated sexual assault and making terroristic threats in relation to the April 9 sexual and physical assault of a 36-year-old woman in her vehicle at a Yard Avenue garage.
Captain Juniak said video footage aired on local news broadcasts and photos shown in local newspapers assisted police in making the arrest of the 25-year-old Trenton resident.
Police reports say the victim entered the fourth floor of the parking garage to enter her vehicle when she was attacked by Anthony during the 5:30 p.m. assault. Armed with a knife, Anthony ambushed the woman and began physically and sexually assaulting her before co-workers happened upon the scene and scared him off.
Bond for Anthony has been set at $300,000.
