A Brothel sting helped police snare 14 people on engaging in prostitution and promoting prostitution charges in New Brunswick on Thursday night.

The month-long investigation began after complaints from residents in the neighborhood to police.

Raiding both homes simultaneously, police arrested Oscar Hernandez, 37, of Franklin Township, and Bonfilio Morales, 35, of New Brunswick, charging both with promoting prostitution at a Jersey Avenue home and at 298 Handy Street.

Arrested at the Handy Street address were Maricela Sandvar, 24, and Rosdlba Hernandez, 23, both of Queens, N.Y., Veronica Garcia, 32, of North Bergen, and Flor Guadalupe Quintero-Per, 22, of Woodside, N.Y. They have been charged with engaging in prostitution.

Police say they arrested two Morganville men Chander Bhan, 41, and Rajesh Kapoor, 42, both alleged to be customers at the Handy Street home.

Four women and two men were taken into custody at the Jersey Avenue home and charged with engaging in prostitution as well. They have been identified as Ruth Perez Filpe, 30, of Newark, Eloy Bortolo, 22, of Union City, Lorna Garcia Meza, 28 of Philadelphia, Luciano Alvarez, 39, of Chicago, Illinois, Guadalupe Boutista-Cruz, 43, of New Brunswick, and Enrique Balladelid, 46, of Franklin.
