Pro football Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor who was arrested last month on charges of having sex with a 16-year-old girl in a hotel room, was indicted by a New York grand jury Wednesday on charges of rape, endangering the welfare of a child, patronizing a prostitute, criminal sexual act and sexual abuse.
The former New York Giant, who did not testify at the grand jury hearing, was arrested at a Holiday Inn in upstate New York on May 6 after a 16-year-old girl telephoned her uncle and told him she was being forced into prostitution and held against her will by a pimp, also later arrested.
Police say Taylor, who denies the charges, paid the girl's pimp $300 for the sexual encounter. Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Zugibe said the girl told police that she had been verbally threatened and physically assaulted.
