President Barack Obama just announced that he accepted the resignation of General Stanley McChrystal. The President added that he accepted the General's resignation with great reservation. President Obama announced that he has nominated General McChrystal's replacement as General David Petraeus.
Obama added that the general has always carried his orders out "faithfully, and shown great courtesy," but added that he believes the decision is necessary and is best for all concerned.
