Could Bronx Drowning Have Been Avoided?

The drowning death of two teenagers in an East Tremont park was an accident waiting to happen, community leaders tell the News. City officials claim enough was done to prevent the teens from swimming in River Park and what happened was a terrible tragedy.

David Luccioni, 17 and Crystal Reyes, 15, drown yesterday in River Park next to the Bronx Zoo. Luccioni tried to rescue Reyes who went under the water when she lost her footing. Firefighters pulled the two teens out of the water.....full article
