New Graduating NYPD Cadet is Son of Paralyzed NYPD Officer



The son of a paralyzed NYPD officer stood among cadets at the police academy who were sworn into the New York City police force Tuesday. Conor McDonald's mother was pregnant with him when his father, Steven McDonald was shot in 1986 inside of Central Park while on the job. The shooting left Steven McDonald paralyzed. He later forgave his shooter.

Conor McDonald and his fellow cadets were sworn in to the academy Tuesday in a ceremony with Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly. Conor McDonald says he felt compelled to join the force given the support the city has given his family.....full article
