An early morning shooting Monday left one teen dead and another hospitalized, The Star-Ledger reported.

Juan John Davis, who was killed, ran from the scene of the shooting before collapsing in front of a nearby deli on Henry Street in Elizabeth and dying, police say.

Officers arrived at the scene after a report of multiple shootings around 10:30 p.m. on Anna Street, where they found the 15 and 16-year-old victims, said John Holl, a spokesman for the Union County Prosecutor’s office.

Police are still searching for the gunman involved in the shooting that one resident told WABC involved two groups of teens that are frequently in the area.

The second teenager who was shot has been identified as 15-year-old Jaquan Manning, of Anna Street who was taken to University Hospital in Newark with a gunshot wound to the ankle leg and is expected to survive. Davis was pronounced dead on arrival at Trinitas Hospital.

Holl said that no arrests have been made at this time, and the incident remains under investigation. Police are asking anyone with information to call the Union County Crimestoppers at (908) 654-TIPS.
