President Barack Obama nominated Army National Guard two-star General, Frank J. Grass for appointment to the grade of Lieutenant General, Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates told The Associated Press.
If Obama's nomination gets the nod from Congress, Grass, who is currently a Major General, will start his new billet as the deputy/vice commander of U.S. element in the North American Aerospace Defense Command at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Grass currently serves as director of operations, J-3, U.S. Northern Command, The Denver Post reported.
