An unrelated shooting death and slashing have kept the New York City Police Department busy this Memorial Day weekend.

Investigators have no suspects in the slashing of a teenage boy in Harlem Sunday night, but an 18-year-old Bronx man is in custody for the shooting death of Fabian Gonzalez, an Air Force veteran attending Fleet Week in Manhattan.

According to a police report, detectives arrested Jordan Agosto and charged him with murder. Gonzalez, stationed in Newport News, Va., had been in New York one day when the shooting occurred at 2:30 a.m. on Lyvere Street in the Parkchester section of the Bronx.

A CBS news report stated 21-year-old Gonzalez was walking with his cousin when both men were shot. The Airman was shot once in the chest and pronounced dead at an unnamed hospital. His cousin, whose name has not been released, was shot in the leg.

Police say a fight led to the stabbing of the 14-year-old boy in Harlem. The teen received cuts to the left side of his head, ear, and neck sometime after 8:00 p.m. on West 125th Street, near Broadway. The victim, whom police describe as "uncooperative," was transported to St. Luke's Hospital and is listed in stable condition. Investigators have no motive and no suspects in the case.
