FAITH EVANS SET TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM “R&B DIVAS”
ON OCTOBER 2, 2012
COMPANION ALBUM TO TV ONE REALITY SHOW WILL BENEFIT WHITNEY E. HOUSTON ACADEMY OF CREATIVE AND PERFORMING ARTS

(New York, NY) – eOne Music, in conjunction with Prolific Music Group, Inc., is set to release a new album by hip-hop/r&b’s first lady, Faith Evans.  The album, titled "R&B Divas", is the companion album to TV One’s new reality show of the same name, and will be released on October 2, 2012. The show also features Nicci Gilbert, Monifah Carter, Syleena Johnson and Keke Wyatt and will premiere on TV One on Monday, August 20, 2012
Faith’s first single, “Tears of Joy,” was written by multiple Grammy nominated songwriter and producer, Claude Kelly & Chuck Harmony and will be serviced to radio shortly. Listen to it here.
The follow-up single, “Dumb” is a retro-soul uptempo written by Evans and features production by multiple Grammy nominated super group 1500 OR NOTHIN’. The song will also be serviced to radio formats in the coming weeks.
The show theme song, “Lovin Me,” was co-written by fellow R&B Diva, Nichole “Nicci” Gilbert-Daniels, Belle Johnson and Gharah “PK” Degeddungseze. Listen to it here.
Faith says, “I'm extremely excited about executive producing this Faith Evans R&B Divas album and working beside some of the premiere female R&B vocalists of our generation. I'm also proud to honor to my dear friend and music Icon, Ms. Whitney Houston and give back to the community in doing my part to help save performing arts in schools. Making this album has been an incredible experience, and every true fan of R&B music will be touched by these beautiful songs of love, hope and triumph!”
Evan’s last album, “Something About Faith,” debuted at #1 on Billboard's Independent Album Chart and earned a 2011 Grammy nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for the hit single "Gone Already."
With a career spanning over a decade in the music industry, Faith has released 3 Platinum-certified albums (“Faith,” “Keep The Faith” and “Faithfully,”), the Gold-certified “The First Lady,” and the holiday classic, “A Faithful Christmas.”  Evans is a 6-time Grammy nominee and winner for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for “I’ll Be Missing You,” an homage to her late husband and hip-hop legend Notorious B.I.G.  She is also a New York Times best-selling author; television producer; mother of four; and entrepreneur.
TV One’s new reality series “R&B Divas” tells the current, real-life story of five multi-talented, beautiful R&B stars - Faith Evans, Nicci Gilbert, Monifah Carter, Syleena Johnson and Keke Wyatt.  Having all seen the highs and lows of the music business, these ladies know what it's like to command the spotlight... then see it dim.  Now, armed with important life lessons, they're stronger and wiser.  At the instigation of Faith Evans, the ladies come together to produce this charity album inspired by her friend Whitney Houston. In honor of the late singer, proceeds from the album will benefit the Whitney E. Houston Academy of Creative and Performing Arts, an institution that Houston attended, located in her hometown of East Orange, NJ.
