Charles Barkley's Parody of Alicia Keys on SNL

Charles Barkley may be the least androgynous basketball star in the world, but that didn't stop him from playing a beautiful woman for the decade's first episode of "Saturday Night Live."

The hefty former NBA player, who stands a towering 6 foot 5, sported a curly ponytail and hoop earrings to play musical guest Alicia Keys in an "SNL" promo that aired on NBC during the NFL playoff game.

Barkley and Keys, who have been both featured on the NBC show in the past, headlined "SNL's" first episode since James Franco signed off in December.

During the one-hour show, Sir Charles made as much fun of himself as he did the Princess of Soul. In a skit referencing his DUI arrest last January, Barkley joked about getting "arrested."

He also riffed on the basketball league's numerous sex scandals by quipping: "I been in the NBA a long time, I know a freaky white girl when I see one."

Meanwhile, Keys, who previously performed on a 2001 episode hosted by Reese Witherspoon, alluded to her sexy stage persona in a skit with Andy Samberg. The gorgeous singer starred in "Booty Call," a digital short that had her seduce her effete and socially inept male co-star over the phone.

The Grammy winner also performed a couple of her hit songs during the show, most notably a version of "Empire State of Mind" to pay tribute to "SNL's" home of New York.

Alicia Keys & Gisèle Theriault Team Up To Debut Jewelry

Alicia Keys has teamed up with jewelry designer Gisèle Theriault to debut her own line of jewelry called The Barber’s Daughter.
"Live Your Inspiration" is her sites motto...and that's obviously what Keys has done with her jewelry line.
Her pieces have an elegant, classic look to them. Kinda like the vibes Keys gives off with some of her music.

“I fell in love with the individuality of the pieces, but more than that, the words that were written on them really resonated with the songwriter in me,” said Keys. “I knew at that moment, for the first time, that through a whole other medium I would be able to spread inspiration and that’s what got me started.”

Keys said her mission is “to give people beautiful, unique pieces with messages that ignite them to find the best within” and that she has long wanted to get involved in accessories.

“Jewelry is a great first step,” said Keys, who recently started AK Worldwide, a company that will focus on her nonmusical endeavors. “I think accessories are exceptional, because it is a simple way for people to express their own style.”

Designer Theriault said, "The inspiration of The Barber’s Daughters is to provide tools for people to connect to their intangible beauty and strength.

Alicia's jewelry will retail anywhere from $85 to $2,500 and is also sold on thebarbersdaughters.com

Fashion making isn't the only thing keeping Alicia's calendar full. Not only is set to drop a new album (The Element of Freedom) on December 15, but the Broadway play she co-produced along with Miramax, "Fela" is opening on Monday. She has a tour planned in March and word is she's set to produce a TV show! Talk about being a busy woman.
