Well, mi gentes, the word is out. That's right, that film we've all been waiting for, 'Diary of a Tired Black Man,' is scheduled for release February 3, 2009!

I have sent a request to the publicity office at Magnolia Pictures requesting a "for sure" release date for the DVD and asked if there will be a free screening for the media. If so, I will make plans to attend and have a full review for all of you...............and definitely a comp DVD for my editor-in-chief and maybe one of my readers.

In recent years, numerous revenge-themed Hollywood adventures have seemed to take a certain delight in portraying black men as unreliable womanizers undeserving of any respect, like the sort of losers always airing their dirty linen any day of the week on The Jerry Springer Show. Now, help has arrived in Diary of a Tired Black Man, a fascinating half-documentary-half melodrama which marks the directorial debut of Tim Alexander. This movie is currently in production.
