WHO WILL STEP UP TO THE MIC?! AN OPEN LETTER TO THE HIP HOP GENERATION...

Who is going to take the lead in hip hop to address the violence that
is destroying the culture? We have moguls taking the lead in the most
money, least amount of profanity used in lyrics, consciousness, and
offensive lyrics. We have all of these so-called leaders in hip hop
who address everything, except the violence that it is creating.
The culture will never die..it's impossible to kill or claim it's
death, because it makes money. Has the green dreams of hip hop artists clouded
their vision in making music with substance? I mean..sure the lyrics
you say are all just bs and lots of studio gangsters exist, but just like
everything else that spawns violence, so can lyrics.
Please read and understand your history.
Propaganda can come from words and lyrics. The newspapers of the
"jim crow" era used words that spawned violence. Many race riots were started this way on purpose..in
essence my question is...have the lyrics in certain songs of hip hop
started a race war against our own people? How many more times will we
experience death to understand that the disease has to be cured? We as
the hip hop generation have to take the lead and stop the sickness from
spreading, because this culture is our child and we birthed it. Now the
time has come for us to scold it.
