When you think of Michael Jackson what can you say but MAGIC. A true student of music, who then became its master. Michael Jackson is an icon that can never be replaced. I was asked "Why am I smiling?" when watching the montage of his videos on BET. Thinking about the question, I knew why. The reason is because, I knew that if Michael is looking down on us now, he would want us to be happy. He would want us to think back to all of the wonderful memories of Billie Jean coming on the tv screen, and watching in amazement as this young brother broke to color barrier of music on a global scale.

Michael Jackson had the hearts and minds of millions of people whenever he sang or performed. There will never be another Michael Jackson. His legacy is the television screen images that we can turn to anytime on VH-1 Classic or pull up on youtube. What other artist can set so many trends in so many different ways and be a classic example of cool everytime. Michael was villified by the media in his time of controversy. Those times were trying for us all to wonder..why Michael? Why are you doing this to yourself? He answered us with performances of wonder and songs that are timeless classics. Looking back at Michael Jackson's life and sudden death today, makes me think about life and how you are living everyday to be lived to the fullest.

If you have a dream, then go out and get it. That is exactly what Joe Jackson did when he first loaded up the Jackson boys in a van and got them on the road from Gary, Indiana. Soon after that, it didn't take long to see and hear the prodigy of wonder, named Michael Jackson. His songs spoke volume to the issues of poverty. His song the "Man in the mirror", made you look at yourself differently. "Billie Jean" talked about a man who is accused of fathering a child and the trickiness of it all. Michael's "Black or white", in his own way confronted the issues of racism that no one would speak about.

Every muscial genre of this century was influenced by Michael Jackson's music. He is now immortalized forever, moonwalking his way into the gates of Heaven. When you look at Michael Jackson now, understand how he broke the color barrier of the video music world to make an African-American face to be accepted without question as the "King of Pop."
