Alltel/Verizon Service Back to Normal After Lightening Strike

If you're a Verizon or Alltel cellular phone service customer in the Onslow County area, you likely spent a few hours on Friday without cell service. A lightning strike caused a disruption of our service.
Verizon and Alltel customers have had either intermittent and/or disrupted cell service after lightning struck one of the company’s cell towers. I spoke with David (employee requested that he remain anonymous), an Alltel customer service representative today and he stated that only Onslow County was affected, but that the company had all service returned to normal within 4 hours. See, sometimes it's good to have two cell phones or at least a land-line...just in case.
