Katt Wiiliams of Russell Simmons Def Comedy Jam fame was arrested yesterday in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Newnan, Georgia. Police received a 911 call stating that a member of Williams' entourage had brandished a weapon during some sort of altercation in the Walmart parking lot. Williams and several others were taken to a local jail.

Williams was back in the Coweta County jail earlier this month after he failed to make payments on the $41,500.00 the bail bonding company posted for his release after an arrest on burglary and criminal trespassing charges last month.

Williams explanation for the burglary arrest was that the allegations were false as he was an invited guest at the property. When asked about the burglary and tresspass incident, Williams said it was "Just a misunderstanding between me and two stupid detectives. I had $250,000 worth of jewelry on when they said I stole the $2,500 worth of jewelry."

Williams just hasn't had much luck in Atlanta. He claimed that he was ordered to leave Coweta County, but when questioned by reporters, the Coweta County Sheriff stated that he was unaware of any such order.

To top his troubles off, the comedian had trouble with Atlanta's posh that led Wiiliams to call a press conference where he claimed the hotel evicted him and his entourage. "They said I caused a disturbance and when I asked them what the disturbance was, they couldn't tell me," Williams told 11Alive News in Atlanta.

Williams also told reporters he purchased a $2 million penthouse in the building in addition to renting seven rooms for seven nights. "I haven't been here 72 hours and I'm being kicked out of the Four Seasons even though I paid up front and in cash. I don't understand," he said.

A spokesperson for the Four Seasons Hotel would only say that he was not aware of the incident and had no record of Mr. Williams' stay at the hotel.

Williams blames his string of bad press and troubles on what he "vaguely" characterized as a "bad political climate".

"This ain't a media issue. "This ain't a sheriff's department issue. This ain't a police department issue. This is an issue where half of our country is mad at something they can't talk about," Williams scoffed.

I think it's time the comedian sever his Georgia ties and head elsewhere.
