A good headline will always catch the eye of a journalist but the New York Daily News' headline about Reality TV couple Jon and Kate Gosselin today not only caught my eye, it made me sigh.
"The Curse of Reality TV" read the news headline which lead to a slide show of photos of couples who were either Reality TV stars. They featured everyone from Brittany and Kevin to Danny Bonaduce to Hulk Hogan and then, the infamous Whitney "Hell-to-the-no" Houston and Bobby "Crack is Whack" Brown.
All I could do after reading the captions was shake my head and wonder what element of our souls bears this burning need to blame some-thing and/or someone for behaviors that we as human being have control over?
In a day and age when people nurse mantra's like "keeping it real" for breakfast, lunch and dinner, I find it embarrassingly contradictory for anyone to blame reporters and Reality TV producers for displaying them the way they act then when they don't get million dollar contracts as a result or overnight fame, they play the age-old, tired "blame game."
