Chappaqua Woman Found in Home Six Months After She Died


CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities found the skeletal remains of a 78-year-old woman in her Westchester County home, apparently months after she had died without anyone knowing.

The county medical examiner's office said Jane Wild had been dead since around August. She was found in her second-floor bathroom on Thursday, after authorities were contacted by her attorney who had been trying to get in touch with her for a couple of months.

Utilities at the house set back from the road and surrounded by trees had been shut off. Mail had accumulated in the mailbox,
