An early morning blaze in Cherry Hill injured two township residents on Monday.
Ronald Hughes Jr., 65, and Barbara Roberts, 49, were admitted to the Temple University Hospital Burn Unit in Philadelphia, after flames swept through their home at 57th Avenue off of Burnt Mill Road around 7 a.m.

The Cherry Hill Fire Department said the home sustained heavy damage as a result of the fire. Despite their injuries, the homeowners managed to escape the fire and were found outside the home when fire department officials arrived.
Firefighters rescued a cat and a dog from the burning home and neighbors took them in.
