Former President Bill Clinton is said to be doing well and in good spirits after undergoing heart surgery today for a clogged heart artery that required two stents to be inserted into his heart.

An adviser of the former sax playing president said Clinton, 63, was hospitalized in New York's Presbyterian Hospital after complaining of chest pains. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton left Washington to head for New York to be with her husband.

In 2004, Clinton's clogged arteries landed him in the hospital where he underwent quadruple bypass surgery. Prior to his surgery, the former president had been busy with his humanitarian work in Haiti.
