An autopsy performed on remains police found in a wooded lot near Colden Street in southeast Newburgh earlier this week failed to confirm an identity.
Police believed the remains were those of little Marc Anthony Bookal who disappeared from his mother's apartment in December 2009.
Newburgh police Lt. Charles Broe said that DNA tests will now be done to positively identify the remains.
