District Schools Superintendent Charles Shaddow released a statement confirming the arrest of a student in connection with a bomb scare that caused the evacuation of Voorhees Regional High School Wednesday afternoon.

The student, who has not been identified, allegedly brought M80 firecrackers onto the school grounds. The firecrackers were found under a lunch table in the cafeteria by another student.

Superintendent Shaddow said the school would take added safety precautions when classes resume. The school will not be open to students until 7:35 a.m. Students having to use the bathrooms must have a hall pass and hall monitors will be given keys to unlock bathrooms for students.

Wednesdays evacuation was the third day in a row the school had to evacuate. Monday and Tuesday's evacuation were due to notes implying that bombs were in bathrooms at the school. Monday's note read, ""3-22-10 Boom" in the girls’ restroom."
