Two Gibbstown men have been charged with stealing approximately $30,000 from the Valero gas station at Broad Street and Repauno Avenue. Robert A. Cirillo, 21, who worked at the gas station, and Steven Rile, 39, have been accused of cashing in Valero gasoline cards and redeeming them for cash.
The men obtained personal loans, took trips, bought bicycles, model race cars and cell phones with the cash between October 1, 2009 and March 15, 2010. Police say the amount of money the two obtained could be as much as $30,000.
Officials reported the scam to police on March 19. After an investigation, the men were arrested and charged with theft and conspiracy to commit theft.
Cirillo and Rile remain at the Gloucester County Jail in Woodbury in lieu of $10,000 bail each.
