An accident on the NJ Transit Line in Rockland county left a teenage girl dead Saturday night after she was struck.

The victim's name and age have not been released to the media pending notification to family members.

The victim was struck and killed by the train which was traveling on the Pascack Valley line just north of the Nanuet Station near the New York State Thruway, according to wcbstv.

Officials said security measures along the Pascack Valley line have been beefed up in recent years because residents are known to take shortcuts across the tracks.
