Greedy NC Contractor Busted for Scamming County

Hardison/Pamlico Co
A North Carolina woman hired to repair a damaged water system in Pamlico County, North Carolina is under arrest today after County officials say she hoodwinked them.

According to WCTI-TV12, Judy Hardison, of Triple H Construction Company was contracted to fix busted pipes in the water system.

Hardison, says Pamlico County Sheriff's Detective Billy Jewel, then hired Rodney Brame to damage the very pipes she fixed.  Police were tipped off about the scam by an observant community member.

Her intention, police say, was to double up on the monies she was already being paid.

See, after Brame would allegedly damage the pipes, the County would authorize Hardison to work repairing the broken pipes during the evening, or on weekends and holidays -- thus earning higher than normal pay for the greedy contractor.

In all, police say Hardison was paid more than $40,000 for her antics. The contractor and her partner-in-crime are facing a bevy of felony charges including one count of obtaining property by false pretense.

An Internet search on the company, Triple H Construction Co revealed a privately owned company named Triple H Plumbing & Constr CO, in Alliance, NC owned by a Judy Harris, which boasted, amongst other things, after hours plumbing repairs.
