Plus Supermodel Liris Crosse is having the best week EVER! Known as a pioneer in the full figured modeling market, the Baltimore native formerly signed to Wilhelmina Models but now with Dorothy Combs Models, won the award for Plus Print Model of The Year at The Fashion Awards MD (www.fashionawardsmd.com) last Saturday. At this weekend's Full Figured Fashion Weekend (www.fffweek.com) in New York, she had the crowd oohing and awing as she sashayed for designers like Curvy Couture, Swimsuits For All, Ashley Stewart and Lane Bryant! Plus Model Magazine hails Liris as "The Body" and she is affectionately called the Naomi Campbell of Plus! And when Liris took to the runway for lingerie company, Curvy Couture in her corset, bra, panties, top hat, and cane, she showed the audience why she deserves that title.Her hourglass, proportionate, size 14 frame had many asking, "Victoria's Secret who?". The industry is buzzing about having the curvier models on the runway in lingerie. Its a daring & big step for plus women! Liris is featured in the July shape issue of Essence Magazine with tennis champion, Serena Williams, on the cover! In late July, she will serve as host for the 2nd Annual Curves Rock Fashion Weekend in Baltimore, Maryland (curvesrockweekend.com). Liris' talents extend beyond the runway and magazines. Although she is well established in the fashion world, she has had several acting roles on the big and small screen.
She is best known for her role in the movie 'The Best Man" as the dancer at the bachelor party! Her fans are wondering if Director Malcolm Lee will reprise her role in the sequel "Best Man Holiday" that's coming to theaters this November.
