Cornel West – The Very Angry “House Negro”

In the last 3 days, Cornel West has called President Obama all kinds of names.  On Amy Goodman’s show “Democracy Now”, he said on Obama’s remarks comparing himself to Trayvon Martin, “Will that identification hide and conceal the fact there’s a criminal justice system in place that has nearly destroyed two generations of precious, poor black and brown brothers? [Obama] hasn’t said a word until now — five years in office and can’t say a word about a ‘new Jim Crow.’”
He went on to call Obama, ‘Global George Zimmerman, according to the Huffingtonpost.com ”

On Obama’s remarks comparing himself to Trayvon Martin, West says: “Will that identification hide and conceal the fact there’s a criminal justice system in place that has nearly destroyed two generations of precious, poor black and brown brothers? [Obama] hasn’t said a word until now — five years in office and can’t say a word about a ‘new Jim Crow.’ … Obama and [Attorney General Eric] Holder — will they come through at the federal level for Trayvon Martin? We hope so — [but] don’t hold your breath. There’s going to be many people who say, ‘We see this President is not serious about the criminalizing of poor people.’”
West continues: “I think we have to acknowledge that President Obama has very little moral authority at this point, because we know anybody who tries to rationalize the killing of innocent peoples, a criminal — George Zimmerman is a criminal — but President Obama is a global George Zimmerman,” pointing to Obama’s attempt to rationalize the killing of innocent children in U.S. drone strikes.

Then on his tweedledum beds of the same feather, Tavis Smiley’s program a day ago, when Smiley brought up the case of the Zimmerman verdict, West said, “I think that it’s been decrepit though, brother. I mean, you get a focus on some of the upper middle class folk. I mean, what I call the rent a Negro phenomenon on MSNBC …
SMILEY: Ha, ha, ha, ha.”  Well, if these two individuals weren’t so pathetic, it would be sad.
You know both of these individuals remind me of, the role that Samuel Jackson played in ‘Django Unchained”. They are so angry that as qualified as they are, they weren’t selected to play the role of commander-in-chief and President of the United States.  By attacking the black hosts on MSNBC as “rent-a-negro”, belies their jealousy that they weren’t the ones selected to be hosts.  Look at Tavis Smiley who has fired from many endeavors, including coming last when he tried to run for election in Los Angeles.  How Cornel West and Tavis Smiley would love to host their own programs on MSNBC!!
I love all the so-called “rent-a-Negro” individuals, Al Sharpton, Melissa Harris-Perry and Michael Eric Dyson.  They provide us with a totally different perspective on it is being black in America.  Without what they do, George Zimmerman would have gotten away unscathed though a white jury acquitted him. So to the “house-Negroes”, continue spewing your hate.  Just like the Republicans who had vowed to bring him down and deny him a second term, you are both flies when it comes to Obama’s stature.
