You know what, after Nicci Gilbert's loud ass, Aunt Jemima self irritated myself and the whole world with her foolisness, I really didn't have it in me to take another series of this show. Don't get me wrong, all of the women can sing, but I mean I just really didn't have a cold day in hell to give this show, until R&b Divas LA.
I like these girls. I liked their solo work (minus Miche'lle, only because I'll never be here for hood R&B queens), so I was definitely ready to give this a shot.
My verdict- it was ok. If not a tad bit boring. Kelly Price is obviously the 'Faith Evans' of this show, as she is the one responsible for bringing all the girls together (she's the musical Iyanla ya'll), but thankfully there was no real catty drama or in-fighting, yet.
My only concerns were why they felt the need to have choreography for an open mic, why Miche'lle stole Michael Jackson's third nose while sounding like Minnie Mouse on helium, and why Claudette Ortiz refuses to age (she's absolutely gorgeous).
All in all, it was a nice premiere, but I kind of miss Nicci's deulsions of relevance. Oh well, I'm counting on Lil Mo to bring some drama to the show, just because she's good for it.
