Mayor Michael Bloomberg has joined other big-city mayors and is starting to Twitter.The billionaire technology lover says it's fun to try new things. He may be trying to act like a regular Joe but he got a rare privilege -- a personal tutoring session from Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey.
Bloomberg's first Tweet on Tuesday wished his 7,000-or-so followers a good morning, and said he was trying it out during his morning Spanish lesson.
By early afternoon he had sent four tweets. He told reporters that most days won't be as active as his first.
Bloomberg is running for re-election. Other fellow mayors, including Newark mayor Cory Booker and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, tweet regularly. Read More About Tweeting Mayor Here
